A landlocked, fertile, mountainous country in the northeastern part of Africa. It is bordered by Eritrea, Djibouti, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, and South Sudan.

Prayer Needs

• With about 40 million members, the Ethiopian Church is one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. Pray for a renewal that will bring about a recovery of the gospel and a deeper grounding in the Christian worldview.
• Pray for continued unity and cooperation among Christians. Although comprising about 60% of the population, Christians are still fragmented across denominational lines. Pray for greater unity that will enable the church to bear a clearer and stronger witness to the message of redemption through Christ.
• The years of Marxist rule have resulted in much deprivation and suffering. As the Church seeks to minister to the poor and needy, please pray for funding and needed resources. Also, pray for provision to maintain structures and initiatives for reaching the people with the gospel.
• Despite being a majority in the nation, Christians still suffer persecution. Pray for greater freedom for the Church amidst oppression from Islamist groups and discrimination in the larger society.
